The Museum of Contemporary Visual Art (MOCVA) is pleased to present Hidden Legacy: The Art & Process of The 21, an exhibition exploring the creative development behind the acclaimed animated film The 21, directed by artist, designer, educator, and filmmaker Tod Polson.
Rather than focusing solely on the final film, this exhibition offers visitors a rare opportunity to experience the artistic process behind animation through storyboards, concept development, digital imagery, visual research, and production materials that reveal how a complex visual story is brought to life.
Visitors are also invited to attend a special screening of The 21 at Cox Playhouse, followed by an open Q&A with director and writer Tod Polson.

This exhibition offers visitors a rare opportunity to explore the creative development behind an animated feature through storyboards, concept development, digital imagery, visual research, and production materials. Rather than focusing solely on the final film, Hidden Legacy reveals the artistic thinking, experimentation, and craftsmanship involved in bringing a complex visual story to life.
In addition to the gallery exhibition, visitors are invited to attend a special film screening and artist discussion at Cox Playhouse, offering insight into the creative process, research, and storytelling behind the project.
